10 years ago, a group of Australian wine friends, consisting of 2 winemakers, 3 wine brokers, 2 wine exporters and 2 wine bottlers got together with hundreds of wine importers from around the world. They discovered that while many wine importers gave in to become agents or distributors, many more aspired to owning their Australian wine brands - to have better control over supply stability, pricing, margins and brand destiny.

Those who have tried cited problems with inconsistent wine quality, wildly fluctuating costs and debilitating supply interruptions. Others were not impressed with the mediocre brand labels provided.

Hence, the AAW Group was formed in 2010. Aimed at giving importers a seamless, safe and cost-effective way to own and import their brands - eliminating the associated problems that can derail a well intended business.
